Coups threaten to destroy the declining dynasty
Synopsis
Without an heir to the massive Lawson cattle station, rival factions in Australia see an opportunity to seize control. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia in locations so remote they are barely inhabited – let alone screened.
The acting is fantastic, the relationships fascinating, complex enough
Sites include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the traditional owners – and Tipperary Station, a real working cattle station so big it has its own airport and school. I think it was a beautifully shot series, the story is too melodramatic.
I think it was made for an international audience
Viewers outside of Australia may be wondering about our gun control laws while watching this video. I lived in the Northern Territory for 8 years, there’s not that much going on between people, it’s OTT.
It is a very watchable series
The destruction of the country and the constant manipulation are certainly true. Death and grief could be explored more deeply, although the legacy of psychological trauma does a good job of continuing it.
