Synopsis
A unique profile of British pop star Robbie Williams. Securing permission to film the lavish dance sequence on London’s Regent Street took a year and a half, as the British royal family owns it. Two nights before filming was to begin, after spending a full week in rehearsals, Queen Elizabeth II passed away and filming had to be postponed. Everyone had to be paid anyway, including the shop owners and crew, and production insurance did not cover losses due to the death of a monarch. The producers had to raise additional funds to film the sequence, which was shot five months later. The title character, Robbie Williams, is portrayed as a chimpanzee. Robbie Williams is not, in fact, a chimpanzee.
