Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of, let’s say, a troubled sociopath
Dexter, a forensics expert by day, a serial killer with a touch of vigilantism by night. One of my favorite parts of the show is the emotions that normal people show, forcing Dexter to mimic them. A good laugh when Dexter’s feigned emotions become real and he is scared out of his mind as in a relationship with his "girlfriend" Rita, mother of two and victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend.
Thrilling story, lots of detail and one of the best opening sequences ever
I also enjoyed Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Dexter’s sister Debra, who adds a nice touch of color to the show without drifting into clichés.
