Kaya Scodelario’s character Laura Harrison is fictional
Fictional miniseries based on the life of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the Brazilian racing legend who won the Formula One Drivers’ World Cup three times. She is based on journalists who covered Ayrton Senna’s career. In addition, Scoledario’s family is Brazilian and comes from Senna’s home state of São Paulo. She is also fluent in Brazilian Portuguese. Early races in Senna’s career in England are shown on a race track next to a mountain range. There are no mountains in England – especially in Norfolk, which is known for its flat landscape.
This is boring and superficial
It is quite obvious that the Senna – Da Silva family had a hand in this, and a very strict one at that. Senna is described as a saint. He is always kind and nice and puts up with everything that is done to him. There are no conflicts except with Prost and Balestre. The dialogues are so incredibly flat that any daily soap is literature by comparison. I want to be first.
He’s the best
I’m the fastest. I want to win. But it’s dangerous! But I want to win. But you’ve already won. But I want to win again.
That had potential
What about Senna’s affairs with women? Did he have no vices? There are no such people. But when his mother is involved in the script… his parents also seem like saints. Always understanding, always patient, kind, forgiving and noble.
Yes, of course
The action images are first class, though. Not totally groundbreaking, but very impressive. The sound design in particular was great.
