This animated anthology series features original stories set in iconic video game worlds
Video games have made a huge leap to the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre with a deeper look at over 50 video game adaptations that have been made into films and TV shows. Clive Standen will be providing the voice acting for Demetrius Titus, the main character in the video game Space Marine 2. Set after the events of the game, Secret Level feels like a monument to mediocrity aside from a few cool cameos.
Where are the big names?
The writing is painfully mediocre, dragging the entire series down despite the undeniably impressive visuals — though even those feel like reheated leftovers from a decade of top-notch video game cinema. Honestly, what is this series trying to do or say that video game marketing hasn’t done (and done better) in the past 10 years? The list of titles is mind-boggling.
Spoiler alert: no
The lack of heavyweights screams only one thing: the creators either wanted no part of this disaster or were waiting to see if Season 1 would be a success. It seems like the short story arc is completely bypassing the creators. What should have been tense, poignant, and memorable feels like a disconnected and uninspired romp.
