The film was shown by the nuns of Mother Cabrini’s order, some of whom were in their nineties
Synopsis
After witnessing disease and poverty in the slums of New York City, Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini embarks on a daring journey to persuade a hostile mayor to provide housing and medical care for hundreds of orphaned children. By the end of the film, many of them were in tears, with several exclaiming, “THIS IS Cabrini!” Archbishop Corrigan was not the son of poor, working-class Irish immigrants to New York City.
Cabrini: We can serve our weakness or we can serve our purpose
Corrigan was born in New Jersey to Irish immigrant parents who owned a food and beverage retail business in Newark and were wealthy. Not both.
Dare to Be Played by Andrea Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli
Featured on The Glenn Beck Program: Is “Cabrini” the BEST Christian film since ‘The Passion of the Christ?’ (2024). I was unfamiliar with the story of Mother Cabrini until I saw it in the theater last night.
I really enjoyed the story and the production merits, as well as the solid performances by the cast
Angel Studios seems to be investing in valuable features that draw massive crowds so far, while avoiding being too preachy or overly sentimental about faith. The theater was only slightly full, but the front section applauded at the end and people stayed until the end, including me, as I really enjoyed the ending title song that was performed as well.
Great movie, well worth the 25 hours spent watching it
I saw this as part of my AMC A-List subscription, but I felt compelled to buy at least one ticket with the advance payment requirement.
