Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are Earth’s only hope in the face of an alien invasion. The film was originally intended to be available exclusively on the streaming service Max. After the company released the film, it was sent to other distributors, and GFM Animation eventually acquired the worldwide distribution rights and turned the film into a theatrical release. In Meteor, when Daffy demonstrates his talent for exerting pressure, he pulls. A lever to lower the machine and push it back up. Porky does the same later in the scene. But when Porky and Petunia are strapped in, Daffy pushes the lever forward and the machine continues to lower them. At the end of the credits, Porky Pig makes his classic remark, “That’s it, people!” He is interrupted only by Daffy Duck, who tells him that the movie is not over and they want a sequel. The story is a bit, well, crazy, but what else would you expect from Looney Tunes, but Daffy Duck and Porky Pig works as a movie. I have to say, however, that the action was over the top. Sure, we’re talking about Looney Tunes here, specifically Daffy Duck, but still. Then I joked a bit less. There are some funny moments, no doubt, but that apt wit and humor that defines Looney Tunes was missing or was rare. But apart from that, I can recommend this movie as a modern, hand-drawn animation. The review comes from Germany, where the movie has already premiered.
